As we sit here in Oregon waiting for the motorhome to have some work done, we're exploring different parts of the state!! Last week we went to Bandon. It is on the coast and very cold. Being from S. California, the beach is warm but in Oregon be sure to wear warm clothes. This picture is just some of the driftwood that washes up on the beach. It was a gorgeous day as we explored the lighthouse, cranberry bogs, did some shopping and ate! The clam chowder was wonderful.

We are anxious to get back on the road, but we decided to have some cabinets remodeled and the work is progressing slowly. Sharon and Sandy have been wonderful, letting us stay with them while the work is being done. Hopefully, in my next posting I'll have before and after pictures to show you! The coach is our home and it will be nice to have extra storage space and more head room. Be sure to check back in to see the changes.

Life in Oregon

We're busy becoming Oregonians and having some different cabinets put in the motorhome. We're finished with repairs and check-ups on the motorhome and I'm anxious to get on the road. Before we leave, we decided to rework some cabinets and the desk area in the motorhome, so we're staying in my sister's house until the work is done.

Ken took some time out of his busy schedule (ha! ha!) to go flying with a friend of my brother-in-law, Sandy. Rick has an experimental plane and it can take off and land almost anywhere. This picture is of Table Rock, a butte here in the valley! Ken had a great time and can hardly wait to go again!

This past weekend we drove to Klamath Falls (70 miles east) to see Ken's high school friends who have retired there. It was a great weekend and so good to get caught up with each other. It's something we look forward to doing all along the road as we travel this great country.

Until next time!!

Two Saturdays

I've neglected this blog now for 2 weeks! Sorry for the delay and I promise to do better.

The first Saturday (May 22nd, our 17th wedding anniversary) was spent in Morro Bay. We left Arizona on Thursday, stayed overnight in Barstow, CA and drove to Morro Bay Friday. We met 4 other couples at the Inn at Morro Bay for a fun filled weekend. Saturday we went to 5 wineries, trying different California wines and learning how they make the wines. You could spend a month in Paso Robles going to all the wineries but we enjoyed the ones we went to. If you ever get a chance, try Wild Coyote wine. It was a favorite with our group.

From Morro Bay we went back to Orange County to get our stuff out of storage, have MORE work done on the motorhome, and see friends and family one more time (go to YouTube and type in Kevin Ayers to see three videos of him playing guitar - they are fabulous). Then we headed north for Oregon.  Ken drove the motorhome and towed a U-Haul trailer, and I followed behind in the Durango. We had walkie-talkies (you're not allowed to use your cell phone while driving in California unless it hands-free) and we called each other Big Blue & Little Blue. We made it to Lodi Friday night and got to Medford, Oregon Saturday afternoon. On the way north, we passed Mt. Shasta and had to stop and take a picture! It was a beautiful day and a beautiful view.

We are in the process of becoming Oregon residents so we'll be here a while but we plan to take some side trips to Klamath Falls, Bend, and the coast! From here we will head north and east. Our goal is to be in New England for the fall colors in October. Come join us if you can!
